GETTING TO KNOW YOU

Image hosting by Photobucket

People bond in wierd situations.

I've been working in my present company for 6.14 months so far already. In our dept, there's just 3 of us sitting together, barely 4 feet apart separated by a (stolen. ahem) round table obstuctring the passageway to the phone. I rarely talk to my boss except to discuss work matters, cos she's just scary. (she has a reputation for being the office DramaQueen).

Anyway, I've been working with my colleague, we shall call her SHANDY. HAHA. shiok sendiri. ok. nvm. Besides the basic first few introductions and trying to get along, we just didn't quite click. I'll do my work, she does her work, and once in a while we blurt out random obvious facts.

"Why today so cold ah?"
"Eh 5:30 di. air con off jor"
"eeeeyer. so much FA to check"
"Where's boss ah?"
"Hungry..."
"Shit.. raining again."

We're not so shallow la.. we still talk about work and bounce ideas off each other. But at times we can just remain silent and in our own world from after lunch till the end of the day.

"Going back???? so early?? hahaha.. enjoy!"
"Eh. no need work so late today la. Just go home"

K. enough background story.

Yesterday we both travelled to this photography studio to brainstorm with bosslady who's on shoot. First time ever sitting in the same car. Initially a bit at a loss to say. But then, for the first time, I just acted like Myself. Found out she was 30 (wahh seiii. thought she was only 25.. 27 max), she hasn't really been working that long, facing similar contract issues as me (her head might be on the chopping block too), doesn't quite enjoy what we're doing now, have similar opinions and disgrunts about our boss,

AND

the best part is, we share the same motto.

"Enjoy First, Suffer Later"

walao. cun. That felt really good.

Next week onwards, I guess I won't have to sneakily turn off my mac and attempt to make a quiet exit.

More like,
"SHANDY, I go first ya.. gonna go have a drink with some friends. Stressed like mad. Enjoy. If got extra food or drinks from office, save some for me ah.. Tomorrow we have picnic."

THE END.

benny, careful ler of what you say in and out of the office. Even though you and your boss can click, it seems that your boss lady and you were in a fortunate position to mingle outside your office environment without inhibitions.

Remember the old adage; Business is business, friend is friend. The two cannot mix.

it wasn't boss lady.. she's my other colleague - the 2 stepchildren living under the wicked stepmother's roof, doing all her chores (and with no allowance..boo)
